Harvest Going Strong!

Sweet Corn: Fresh picked yellow "Incredible" and white "Delectable" corn - This corn is delicious, but this planting has a lot of worms (mostly concentrated at the tips). If these little crawlies make you feel bad to look at, take a large, sharp knife, and cut the top (2") of the ear off and throw in the compost before husking (you'll never know that worm was there!).

Spaghetti Squash: The big yellow ball at the bottom of the box. These are all picked ripe and don't store well, so use it within a week or two. Prepare as like all winter squash (cut in half and bake in the oven).

Carrots: The orange roots at the bottom of the box. These are the last until the fall crop comes in late September.

Cucumbers: Green, crisp, fresh, and delicious.

Red Peppers: The long, tapered, red peppers near the bottom of the box. These are SWEET (not hot) "Italia" peppers.

Leeks: The long white stalks with green tops near the middle of the box.

Kohlrabi: The purple ball, with green leaves attached in the middle of the box. See our weekly newsletter for a great recipe idea.

Tomatoes: In the paper bag nestled into the middle of the box. Height of the field-grown season!

Hot Peppers: The peppers in the bag of tomatoes. We grow a wide variety of heat and colors - but all pepper in the paper bag are HOT! Handle with care.

Head Lettuce: One head of red "Magenta" lettuce near the top of the box.

Bok Choy: The dark greens with light green ribs near the top of the box.

Basil: The small bunch of light green aromatic leaves near the top of the box. Great with tomatoes or making pesto.

Cilantro: The other small bunch of light green aromatic leaves near the top of the box. Key ingredient for great salsa.

Dill: The small bunch of feathery light green aromatic leaves near the top of the box. Great with cucumbers for a fresh salad.
