Good food for all

At Brookfield Farm, we believe everyone should have access to healthy food. Making our produce as affordable as possible is critical to the farm’s mission of furthering environmentally, economically and spiritually healthy agricultural techniques and of developing community supported agriculture models. The accessibility and affordability of good food is integral to the health of our overall community. Our community includes everyone who wants to be a part of it.

SNAP and HIP

We accept SNAP and HIP benefits to pay for CSA shares and on farm purchases. Just indicate on your share enrollment form that you would like to pay with this option. If you have questions about using your SNAP and HIP benefits, please contact us.

Donor Supported Shares

Brookfield Farm maintains a fund to subsidize shares for those who can’t quite make the reach of a full share payment. The fund harnesses the power of our community to lift all people up. Whether an individual is deciding between feeding their family healthy food and paying a medical bill or simply has fallen on difficult financial times, the Donor Support Share Fund is here to support membership for all into the Brookfield Farm family.

The funds are available to those who self identify as needing support. To access these funds or recommend someone who could use financial support, just email us and we will work with you to set up financial support.

You may also donate to the fund here or adding a little extra when you make a share payment or purchase.

Donor Funded food access program

In 2022, with seed funds from a private donor, we trialed our Donor Funded Food Access program. This program assists us in getting high quality produce to those out in our greater community. The program funds the production and harvest of produce which is distributed into the community by local organizations active and experienced in food access and equity work.

This fund broadens the reach of Brookfield Farm by providing produce to those who in our greater community that the CSA does not serve by harnessing the resources of the farm and our community and dovetailing with the connections of community organizations active in food equity.

Our trial year was a great success and Brookfield Farm supplied food access organizations with 4000 lbs of produce including lettuce, corn, onions, tomatoes and summer squash. In 2023, Brookfield Farm will continue to grow our Food Access Fund and production and broaden the organizations we provide produce too.
