Cantaloupe (Cucumis melo)

 

Cantaloupe, also known as muskmelon, is a native of southern Asia. A member of the gourd family, cucurbitaceae, melons are rich in Vitamins A and C as well as in potassium.

Storage Tips:

  • Melons will keep for a week or so if kept cool and uncut.

  • Once cut open, melons should be eaten within a few days
